Father, Help me and those I pray for to ignore the distractions that fill our daily lives, vying for our attention, votes, engagement, dollars, opinions, allegiance, etc. I declare that there is a whole spiritual reality that is more REAL than all these distractions, yet I am too easily pulled off course in my thinking and intentions, and actions.
Father, there are so many voices calling our names. Empower us to hear and recognize Your true voice through Your Bible, prayer, worship, and Your people. Equip us to think critically about what we place our attention on all during the day today- it is part of our stewardship as servants of the Most High. Challenge me today to live as who I am in You and to avoid the curse of hypocrisy, which is everywhere in human life.
