In case you don’t know, there are thousands of innocent people whom the U.S. Is duty-bound or honor-bound to deliver from Afghanistan who are stranded in Kabul and other cities ard areas. So, grab your Bible or your Bible app and join me for a partial list of specific ways that we can pray to the Father and make a difference. Through prayer we can bypass intentional and un-intentional obstacles.
- Read Daniel Chapter 6:1-28, the Story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den. Note the way this situation developed, note the evil intents of some of those involved, the innocence of Daniel, how his fate appeared to be “sealed”, and the outcome, including the glory that God received (6:26-27).
- Call on God to empower and send His angels into this situation to accomplish His will in every case. They cannot be stopped by earthly means.
- Remember that there may be additional ways you can help besides prayer- Ask the Father to show you; but as John Bunyan said, “You can do more than pray after you have prayer, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed”.
- There are many inside and outside of government who are finding way to locate, direct, transport, and protect those innocents in harm way. Pray for God to gift them with increased stamina, creativity, boldness, bravery, intuition and wisdom.
- Pray for God to prosper the prayers of the people in need of rescue. Join and agree with them in prayer. Pray that God will empower them to call out to Him in their distress like Daniel doubtless did during that dark night. God hears those in distress who call on Him. Ask Him to use this experience in many lives to bring them closer to Him.
- Although this situation is playing out in a moment, call on God to have His way and will in the longterm and bigger picture.
- Pray for your own peace (Philippians 4:6,7). Sometimes God’s children are so trouble by the world, it actually interferes with their prayers and other obedience. Trust in Him (Psalm 20:7).
- Remember God honors no deadlines. He is and will be as able to show his sovereignty and glory in Kabul after the last day of this month.
- And don’t forget that often overlooked request– That God would show the world His Glory through using your prayer. For He is the living God, enduring forever;
His kingdom shall never be destroyed,
and His dominion shall be to the end.
He delivers and rescues; He works signs and wonders
in heaven and on earth, He who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.” (Daniel 6:26,27 ESV)
